Timeline

1548 6AE: Born as "Kikina Kina" to Kitoto Kito and Nanalata Hahalata (though, biologically, her father is unknown). She was born on an island in the Cieldalaes and lived there when she was very young.1551 6AE: Moved to Ul'dah.1551 - 1557 6AE: She lived with her rich parents in a wealthy neighborhood (like, Syndicate wealthy).1557 6AE: Nanalata discovered that she was not his child biologically, and rather was the product of Kito's infidelity. Nanalata divorced Kito for this.Early 1557 6AE: Kito sent her to work in the Nanawa Mines.Late 1557 6AE: She got sick with a serious case of pneumonia and was sent to work in spite of this. Her fellow miners took her to the doctor and even offered to pay, since (as far as they could tell) Pakeke and her mother were poor. Kito refused and said Pakeke didn't need any more care, thank-you-very-much. Possible neglect was reported to the Brass Blades. Kito convinced them nothing was wrong.Late 1557 6AE: After the incident with Pakeke's pneumonia almost leading to legal consequences, Kito instead opted to hide Pakeke from the world as much as she could. Kito was neglectful - she often didn't keep enough food for Pakeke to eat and would frequently go for days without interacting with her. Pakeke took care of herself - she cooked her own meals, hid food when Kito brought home groceries so she'd have something, farmed crickets, and gathered what she could from outside.1558 6AE: Nearly a year after the pneumonia incident, Kito took Pakeke on a trip to Sagolii. They were going to go to the "Bronze Bazaar" together. The Bronze Bazaar does not exist. Kito dropped Pakeke off on the Dunes, said she'd come back, but intended the predators of the sands to eat her child.1558 6AE: Lived in Lassae Village (mentioned in 1.0 as a village that "turned cloak and joined the Amalj'aa" which no longer exists). There's little canon information, but I imagine that back then, Lassae was a peaceful village where the five races and Amalj'aa lived in relative harmony. Pakeke was fairly taken care of by the community at large in a sort of unofficial foster care. Some Gah of the Amalj'aa taught her skills for self-defense.Later in 1558 6AE: There were rising concerns in Lassae that the village might not be safe soon. She ended up finding a permanent family with a transient couple that passed through the village - a Lalafell (Kokoyera Teteyera), his Sylph partner (Loxia), and the children in their care (Mimita and An'hor).1560 - 1567 6AE: Traded with Eorzean tribes, primarily under the Ashcrown Consortium. Pakeke and her family often slept on the road, as their work required a lot of travel.1560 - 1567 6AE: Was arrested several times for various charges. Due to this, she frequently served as a noxius on the Bloodsands, but her debts were typically paid off in a few weeks to a moon or so.1567 6AE: She and her group abruptly disappeared from the public eye in Thanalan. Those close to them may have heard rumors as to why - she and her group were digging into the shady doings of an Ul'dahn noble, which is a dangerous thing to do.1567 6AE: Someone tried to kill her. Pakeke ran, leaving Thanalan (and her family) behind. A friend (a Qiqirn from Western Thanalan) helped her sneak on a ship in the Silver Bazaar. She arrived in La Noscea and took odd jobs for a while.1569 6AE: Joined the Knights of the Barracuda as a scout for the 8th levy.1570 - 1572 6AE: After a lot of pleading, and several peaceful airships being shot down by Garlean vessels, she convinced the Lominsan military to allow her to spy on Garlemald. She served as a tavernkeep in Ilsabard, eavesdropping on conversations and convincing uneasy soldiers to defect to anti-imperalist groups.1572 6AE: Returned to Vylbrand as Dalamud descended and resumed her position in the Lominsan military.0 7UE: Left the Lominsan military.0-3 7UE: Aided in the construction of what would become Costa del Sol.3 7UE: Charged for a crime in Costa del Sol (the details of which have since been purged) and left the area.4 - 5 7UE: Took odd jobs as an adventurer.

((Start of ARR-onward is more loosey-goosey, and the time bubble makes things weird, but... some important things have happened, anyway. Most of these are Pakeke-specific, some of these are just relevant lore!))ARR (2013): Shortly after Ifrit was summoned and dispatched by the Warrior of Light, Pakeke made her way back to Thanalan, her family, and the Ashcrown Consortium.~Patch 2.2 (2014): Around a hundred Sylphs are killed in northern Thanalan. (Mentioned in patch 2.35 as happening "6 moons ago" in the ARR allied tribal quest, Friends Forever.)STB through SHB: Volunteered helping the Ala Mhigan refugees in Thanalan, mainly around Stonesthrow/Fesca's Wash. (Think similar to M'naago custom deliveries, but in Thanalan.) She met Midnight in this work, and they started to date.Post-SHB (around Oct. 2021): While adventuring, she stayed in a place with turbulent aether for too long and fell into, basically, an aetherial-induced coma. She was unconscious for around a week with her mortality up in the air before she finally woke up. She was bedridden for longer.ENW: Around the time it seemed the world was ending (AGAIN), she and Midnight quickly eloped - if the world were to end, they wanted to spend their final moments together. (Since the world didn't end, she and Midnight have - much to Pakeke's annoyance - been largely long-distance spouses.)(Ambiguously, around post-SHB/early ENW): Pakeke opened Desert's Refuge, a hole-in-the-wall tavern in the Dunes of Ul'dah. No Brass Blades allowed.Post-ENW (Jul. 2022): U'nidei (an old friend/foe from the Bloodsands), discovered Pakeke was back in Thanalan and tormented Pakeke and her friends. (This was revenge for Pakeke having framed U'nidei for a crime that led her to a decade-long sentence in the oubilettes, though the alternative was killing Nidei outright.) Pakeke convinced U'nidei that she didn't mean to harm her and was able to diffuse the situation peacefully - U'nidei left Thanalan for the Far East after that. During this, Ruckus burned Pakeke's criminal record at the shrine to Azeyma in Eastern Thanalan.Post-ENW (Nov. 2022): She and her bestie, Ruckus Fiddlesticks, opened the Cactuar Cantina together.Post-ENW (Jan. 2023): Her sister's secret life finally came to light. Pakeke learned that Mimita is working for the Blackstring Undertaking, a shady group of Ul'dahn moneylenders who participate in organ-legging, too. From what Pakeke understands, Mimita has killed people in their name. Pakeke moved out of Desert's Refuge, where she and Mimita had lived together, and started being roommates with Ruckus instead.

DM Info

Hidden info! Which other players would have to find out through RP, but DMs might be able to use! (Please note: because this info is hidden and doesn't come up that often, it's prone to change behind the scenes! If you want to double-check or have me elaborate on a point, just ask.)Aliases: Kikina (birth name), Kinana (by her mother), Arachne (gladiator name), Etata (Ilsabardian barkeep name), Ki (her primary name before fleeing Thanalan; her family still calls her this), Pakeke (current)
People who knew her before she fled Thanalan would know her as Ki. Ashcrown workers know to call her Pakeke now; others might not.
Misc:
- Has a strength to certain poisons due to being raised with the Dunesfolk practice of raising their children with dilutedly-poisoned tea.
TimelineKnown Languages, Abilities & InventoryCriminal Record (Ul'dah) - Charges include vandalism, riots, and attempted rebellion. The actual IC document NO LONGER EXISTS - it was stolen by Ny'ope Genhu and burned at Final Prayer by Ruckus Fiddlesticks. I'm keeping the page as a record of things she did.Official Record (Limsa Lominsa) - The details of the Bloodshore incident have been stricken from the record, but basically: Pakeke incited a riot against Gegeruju for buying the place the workers were given to build. He compared her to her mother, who was previously one of his dancers/girlfriends, and hit on her. Pakeke tried to kill him. He was fairly amused by it - finally, something exciting, and offered to drop charges if she'd work as a dancer. She said "if it's entertainment you want, how about a battle to the death, huh?". He said, "Well, I'M not going to do that, but sure! Fight one of my pets and we'll call it even!" so she fought some big monster or something. Charges dropped, but she's still banned from the place.

Motivations & Flaws

Opinionated: She holds her convictions (anti-authoritarianism, pro-proletariat, and "don't kill people" are the big ones) strongly. If she passionately agrees or disagrees with someone, she may look for a way to insert herself into the situation. (Same goes for if someone seems like they'll hurt people or be hurt - her problem now!) Even if someone declined her help, she'd probably still try and eavesdrop.Nosy: She frequently likes to gossip. If she's not interested in what's being said she'll get bored of course, but...Potentially Dishonest: If she distrusts someone, she'll frequently put on faux friendliness to look for more information. (This is situational, though - she wouldn't pretend to be pro-Garlean if those harmed by the Empire were in the room with her, but one-on-one? She might feign neutrality to learn more.)Soft on People in Harm's Way: If someone says they're in trouble and need help, she tends to give the benefit of the doubt. There are a few caveats to this - she's suspicious of certain groups of people (rich people and authority mainly) and of certain tasks (she's not going to report to the authorities and will refuse to kill people [asking her to do either will lose her trust]). It'd be easy to lie to her and use this to your advantage. If you told her "Hey, someone stole my purse!", she'd help steal it back (or steal it "back").Battle Avoidance: She thinks she can hold her own in a fight, but it's been years since she's tested this. With Spoken, her ideal approach would be to tail them until they're alone or in a neutral area and talk to them (her only weapon being her rope). If a situation turns hostile, her instinct is to run and/or hide. If friends are in danger, she'd try to draw attention to herself and try to find a spot to lose them.

Connections

(I play some of these characters in-game - I'll make a note where that's the case.)Ruckus Fiddlesticks [he/him]: (PLAYER CHARACTER.) Ruckus is Pakeke's best friend, these days. Pakeke will steal his hat and embarrass him every chance he gets, and the two support each other however they can. He co-owns the Cactuar Cantina with her.Mimita Mita [she/her]: (ALT CHARACTER). Her adopted younger sister, a servant of Nald'thal that is both shy and confident, innocent and guilty. Mimita is indebted to an Ul'dahn moneylending and organ-trafficking operation called the Blackstring Undertaking and refusing any help, so Pakeke and her are on tense terms at the moment.Loxia [she/he/they shifting]: (ALT CHARACTER.) Sylph from the Thanalan division of the Ashcrown Consortium and Pakeke's guardian.* She's mischievous and likes to be nonsensical just to see how people react. She often uses Sylphic magic to appear as not a Sylph most of the time, and she's able to hide her Sylphic accent. ("I think this" vs "This one thinks this".) She usually refers to Pakeke as "starry-eyed one". She taught Pakeke textile arts and how to disguise herself, and the two are still close.
* Note: Not parent, but guardian; Sylphs don't have parents and Loxia never fully grasped the concept of parenthood. She acts like a mix between a parent, an aunt/uncle, your parent's friend, and an older sibling.)
Kokoyera Teteyera ("Yera") [he/him]: (ALT CHARACTER.) Lalafell from the Thanalan division of the Ashcrown Consortium and Pakeke's adoptive father. Imagine a hippie dad - that's Yera. He taught Pakeke carpentry and insisted she go to therapy as a teenager, which is likely the only reason she has a handle on her trauma. He's kind, easy-going, and excellent at diffusing conflict and providing emotional support. When Pakeke has a thorny problem, she turns to Yera.Kitoto Kito ("Kito") [she/her]: (NPC.) Pakeke's birth mother. (Kito is fairly developed for an NPC, if she sounds interesting, please ask! I'll go into more details, but I'll try to be succinct.) Kito is from the Cieldales originally, but left after becoming enchanted with the glitz and glamour of Ul'dahn high society. She's a greedy gil digger who wants everyone to think she's upper class. Outwardly, she's very friendly and flirty - she'll do anything to stroke someone's ego if there's something in it for her. She was a neglectful mother and tried to kill Pakeke by abandoning her to the Sagolii when raising her became inconvenient. She and Pakeke look like they could be twins. Pakeke HATES her, Kito doesn't think about Pakeke most of the time. If Kito thought she could get something out of Pakeke (or... anyone else; I'd LOVE to play Kito as an NPC, she's awful), she'd come in a heartbeat.Nanalata Hahalata (the "man who raised her") [he/him]: (NPC.) A rich and successful monetarist in Ul'dah. He doesn't consider her his child anymore as she's not related to him by blood (her mother had an affair; he divorced her when he found out). He's elderly (in his 90s) and has dementia. When he sees Pakeke, he's generally confused and thinks she's still a child or mistakes her for Kito. He's Lolorito Nanarito's uncle.U'nidei [she/her]: (NPC.) U'nidei and Pakeke met on the Bloodsands as adversaries, but became friends. Until, that is, Nidei sold out allies in the attempts at Ul'dahn revolution to the Brass Blades - earning coin for herself and death for those she betrayed. Most wanted to kill Nidei, but Pakeke insisted on pacifism. She framed Nidei for arson in the Coliseum, resulting in Nidei's decade-long sentence to the Ul'dahn oubilettes. Nidei tormented Pakeke when she got out, but, again, Pakeke chose pacifism and managed to talk Nidei down from her rampage. Nidei lives in Kugane now.Lolorito Nanarito [he/him]: Listen, I know it might be cringe to have relations with canon characters, but this does not barely ever come up. Lolorito was her cousin, when Nanalata was her father, although Lolorito is so much older he always had an avuncular relationship. He loved her very much before it was discovered she was a bastard child. He distrusts her, these days. (She was a criminal noxius and did try to set Nanalata's house on fire as a teen, so that's probably fair.)Liliju Liju [she/her]: Another canon NPC relation. Liliju Liju is Lolorito's niece (she's in the quest for Kugane Castle and mentioned in a Kugane leve) and was Pakeke's second cousin, though their relationship was more like first cousins as children. Liliju is still on decent, if fairly distant, terms with Pakeke. They visit each other for Starlight and maybe their birthdays.

Abilities

Polyglot

Known languages
- Common (speak and write; native)
- Old Lalafellin (hear and read. native, but she's not used it in years - she can translate FROM, but not TO. Mhachi is implied to have been this same language as well)
- Garlean (speak and write; fluent)
- Ala Mhigan (speak and write)
- Amaljic (speak and write; fluent, several dialects)
- High Sylphic (speak; there is no written language)
- Sign/Handspeak (conversational)
- Gobbiespeak (speak; limited. picked up about as much as a toddler, because goblins tend to know common anyway)
- Sahaginspeak (speak the "basic commands the Sahagin bark on land"; read a little bit more pertaining to military/trade contexts)
She knows a fair few languages, but if there were a language barrier, she'd attempt to parley* with the person.
* As in, the Eorzean game of parley mentioned in 1.0.

Keen Hearing

As a Plainsfolk, her ears are naturally quite sensitive to the world around them. She has practice using this hearing as a scout listening for signs of life nearby, and as a bartender listening to multiple conversations at once. Her ears are particularly sensitive, even by Plainsfolk standards - which can be a boon! Easier to spy on people! Or it can be to her detriment - loud noises (for example, places like the Gold Saucer or someone suddenly yelling over linkpearl) can be physically painful.

De-escalation

As a trader for the Ashcrown Consortium, she built experience de-escalating conflicts between man and tribe, even in situations where violence seemed imminent. She also knows how to diffuse a bar fight, though whether she will or will just ask her clientele to move it outside depends on her mood.

Textile Arts

She enjoys many textile arts, including weaving, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. With regard to tailoring, she prefers making garments that are more functional than fashionable. (You want a nice gown you can wear within Ul'dahn high society? Look elsewhere.)
Her knowledge of these arts includes the creation of Sylphic silk and Sylphic embroidered patterns of protection.

Disguise / Glamour

As someone adopted by a Sylph, she learned a few things about how to play tricksy pranks. Pakeke knows how to glamour herself to appear as other people (as in cut ARR quests where Sylphs pretend to be Scions) or to render herself invisible (as in tribe quests where Sylphic magic makes the WoL invisible). She knows how to dispell a glamour, too - all you need is a truesight scalebomb.

Fighting Style

- Will avoid fighting if she can
- Was a gladiator on the Bloodsands, though that was long ago
- Trained in a gimmicky sort of fighting style where she used her sword as little as possible
- A length of rope with (subtle) weights tied into the ends: used as a whip to bruise enemies or to trap her opponent's weapon in order to disarm them
- Shield (defensively and offensively, used to stun)
- Sword (she dislikes using her sword, but she would if fighting against beasts)
- "Flashybang"; a goblin-style flash grenade which is bright and loud and would stun anyone (including/especially Pakeke herself) in range

Inventory

Standard Inventory
- A flashybang
- Jerked meat, roasted crickets, water
- Healing potions
- A few bandages
- Needle and thread
- Rope (with steel balls tied into each end)
- A handful of shards, crystals, and clusters
- A reasonable amount of gil
- Pocket journal (the contents of which are mostly written in Amaljic, save for some poems in common)
- Masked turban (if in Thanalan)
Extensive Inventory
If she knew danger was ahead or was going on A Trip, she'd pack her basic inventory and the following...
- Sword, shield
- A lot of shards, crystals, and clusters
- Defensive potions: healing potions, eye drops, spine drops, smelling salts, and an antidote for weak poisons
- Materials for textile crafting (in case she gets bored; yarn, knitting needles, embroidery hoop, unfinished projects, etc.)
- A truesight scalebomb to dispell glamours, just in case.

RP Hooks

Some ways in which you may meet or already know Pakeke. Feel free to message me if you'd like more details! If you think they may have known each other previously, please tell me - might be some details you'd know which aren't listed.

Barkeep

Pakeke is a co-owner and barkeep of the Cactuar Cantina, along with her best friend, Ruckus Fiddlesticks. Every Friday, she'll be there, mixing drinks, making food, stealing Ruckus's hat... and making conversation with patrons at the bar when she finds a free moment.Cactuar Cantina
Faerie, Goblet, W21 P57
Saturdays, 4-7 PM EDT

Thanalan Native

Are you also from Thanalan? New to the area and want to learn? Pakeke would love to talk about it, whether it's shooting the shite with a fellow native or giving someone new the what's what of the jewel of the desert. She has a lot of love and hate for her home.

Want some company?

Pakeke regularly frequents a handful of bars and restaurants. If you find her at one, feel free to strike up a conversation - she's usually friendly enough. Or, perhaps, she'll get bored or interested and talk to you.

Ashcrown Consortium ( Crystal Trader / Tribe Trader )

Pakeke has traded crystals and other materials with many of the Eorzean tribes - typically in Thanalan. This is most often done on behalf of the Ashcrown Consortium. If you need crystals, tribal goods, or help interacting with members of Eorzea's tribes when differing language and culture pose barriers, Pakeke would be able to help.

Literacy Teacher

Can your character read? If not, do they want to? Pakeke volunteers in Stonesthrow and the slums of Ul'dah helping adults learn to read. (I'm working on the logistics of how this would work, but it would likely be discord RP with a lot of OOC communication and character questions with a few scenes for the more interesting bits.)

Pre-existing Connections

You might already know Pakeke if you... (Highlight text to see details. If you're interested in setting up a prior connection or just want to know more, feel free to ask!)** In Thanalan **
- Were a resident of Lassae Village: [She lived there briefly before the village was destroyed as an orphan taken care of by the community.]
- Lived or worked with Thanalan tribes or the Ashcrown Consortium: [From ~1558 - 1567 6AE (~14-5 years pre-Calamity), and again starting from ARR-onward.]
- Fought on the Bloodsands or spectated: [From 1560 - 1567 6AE (12-5 years pre-Calamity). She was a noxius - a criminal paying off her debt, and used a length of weighted rope as her weapon.]
- Worked in the Nanawa Mines: [In 1557 6AE (15 years pre-Calamity), she worked as a child miner of the Nanawa Mines.]
- Were a Brass Blade: [From 1560 - 1567 6AE (12-5 years pre-Calamity), she committed many acts of petty vandalism, attempted arson a few times, and was generally rude and annoying to Brass Blades.]
- Worked toward Ul'dahn revolution: [From 1567 6AE (five years pre-Calamity) and several years prior to that, she supported these efforts and tried to actively involve herself. She was young, reckless, and very passionate about the cause. Not for Monetarists, not for the Sultanate, but for the people.]
- Handled crystal shipments (to the Ul'dahn crafters' guilds, mining industry, etc): [She sold/delivered crystals from ~1558-1567 6AE (~14-5 years pre-Calamity), and again starting from ARR-onward.]
** In the Shroud **
- Handled crystal shipments (to the Ul'dahn crafters' guilds, mining industry, etc): [She sold/delivered crystals from ~1558-1567 6AE (~14-5 years pre-Calamity), and again starting from ARR-onward.]
- Lived or live in the Sylphlands/Little Solace: [She was adopted by a Sylph and their partner, and they'd go to visit as one would with family. (Also, on crystal business with the Ashcrown Consortium!)]

** In Ilsabard **
OOC note that the lore with Ilsabard is a bit of a weak point for me, but if you're willing to work with that, hey.
- Frequented Ilsabardian taverns: [From 1570-1572 6AE (2 years prior to - the year of the Calamity), she worked as a tavernkeep in Ilsabard.]
- Willingly defected from the Empire: [From 1570-1572 6AE (2 years prior to - the year of the Calamity), she posed as a tavernkeep in Ilsabard and helped those who wanted out to resistance groups.]

OOC

About Me
name: merry
pronouns: they/them
age: 21+
discord: x_merry_x
timezone: CDT (UTC-5)
i'm shy and prefer small groups (both in-RP and outside it), so you probably won't see me post in discord servers very often. but i'm friendly, one-on-one or in small groups. feel free to reach out!
Writing Style
I'll engage with most whoever, but I personally tend toward script/short prose. I prefer to play character cards (and emotions) close to the chest rather than spell them out in detail.
I put my character dialogue "in quotations" even if it isn't strictly necessary to make the IC/OOC boundary clearer. I usually put on my RP tag! But sometimes I forget. If there's quotes, I'm in character. Please use third-person POV when RPing with me, I prefer the IC/OOC boundary to be very clear and first/second person feels like it blurs it to me.Writing Tone
it varies, as I enjoy a mix of light-hearted and serious RP, but I prefer to play my characters with sincerity. I try to stay similiar to canon's tone which can be silly, and it can be serious.
On Potentially Sensitive Content
- communication's important. if you ever need OOC clarification or feel uncomfortable, please reach out to me ((OOC)) and tell me.
- for mature/heavy/nsfw topics, i would prefer my RP partner to be 18+. in fact, if you are a minor, i am uncomfortable engaging in those topics with you and request that you disengage (please stay safe!)
- i'm generally open to dark topics/themes, but communication, context, and consent are important. ("consent" not just in a NSFW/ERP way, but if you're bringing up something heavy and unexpected, let me know, and let's move RP to a private channel, yeah?)
About GM'ed Plots
GMed plots are fun! I get both excited and silly-nervous about them.
- small groups preferred (~2-5 people, including GM)
- if you're a GM and need someone to play NPCs, i would be so down; i *love* to cosplay as just some guy.
- if you're interested in me as a player, i've got Secret Info for GMs you might find useful and a hidden page about abilities/character knowledge that could be shared with the group. and, importantly, some boundaries to cover before i get involved.
- if you're interested in running a plot together, i'm happy to take a stab at GMing - or we can try running it GMlessly!

RP Preferences

(of which, there may be exceptions to the rule. but y'know.)
✬ = character specific
Interested in:
Non-combat conflict: Pakeke's a pacifist; she doesn't like to fight. At the same time, tense situations where there's a threat of violence or other serious consequences are fun to write. (Put another way, I'd be interested in the conflict-before-the-conflict - the tense moments where a fight might occur, but it's not officially a done deal yet.)
Eorzean Tribes: I am so fond of the tribes of Eorzea. I would love to help a Sylph with hijinks, a Qiqirn steal back what their rival stole from them, etc, etc.
Dark side of Thanalan: Ul'dah's an awful place to be - let's explore why. (Of course, this comes with a content warning, as Thanalan's canon includes: death, poverty, racism/xenophobia, corrupt law enforcement, forced labor [as punishment to a crime, payment of a debt, or even actual illegal slavery], child labor, death from poor working conditions/overwork, gambling, drugs and alcohol, and allusions to sex and sex work [though not described explicitly])
Romance RP: Some things just plain barely come up outside of romantic partnerships, and I think they'd be fun to explore. (Important notes, though: RP ≠ OOC, please be 20+, if you've got a romantic partner OOC I hope you've gotten the a-okay [because while RP ≠ OOC that can still hurt feelings], and anything more than flirting and I'll likely awkwardly pull you aside for a quick ooc chat verifying those + asking where the line of RP you do/don't want to get into is.) (Less important notes: Pakeke's a recent divorcee [9/23], polyamorous, tends to prefer casual relationships, and when things get serious she's more likely to get flighty/messy.)
Exploring the past: This might sound a bit odd, but I think it'd be fun to explore how the world of XIV used to be. I joined XIV post-SHB, but I'm fascinated with some temporal settings that have already passed. (With Pakeke, I'm most interested in a setting long gone, some 10 years before the Calamity when the world was in a state of political suspense. [Remember when the rampaging goobbue was unleashed on Ul'dah? Around then.])
- casual, but immersive RP (I have the most experience here)
- short-term RP
- long-term RP
- lighthearted or mature themes. preferably a mix! (drama hits harder when allowed to breathe, and it's less exhausting then, too, imo)
- lore abiding/bending characters (I care more about the spirit of the lore than the letter of the lore, you feel me?)
- low-powered characters (mid-powered is OK too)
- in-game RP
- discord RP (i have a preference for in-game RP, but i don't mind going to discord in cases where that makes more sense. on discord, i favor prose over script-style RP)
Not interested in:
Violent RP, esp where PCs kill the baddies: These days, Pakeke's a pacifist. She will complain the entire time that no, in fact, killing the baddies before they kill you isn't the answer and you should try to understand them and negotiate instead -- even if they tried to kill you first. To an extent, this conflict of beliefs can be interesting... but I think more often, that will be annoying for everyone.
- combat RP (usually. while pakeke is disinclined to use violence against spoken, she'd be fine fighting beasts. i, her player, AM interested, but inexperienced in this realm of rp, so i'd want a lot of communication wrt this [and would likely be slow!])
- character death/severe, permanent injury. some injuries are fine, but i'd want to discuss that more beforehand
- high powered characters
- Ascians, voidsent, or sin eater player characters
- lore-breaking characters

((OOC NOTES:
- This document NO LONGER EXISTS in-universe. It was stolen by Ny'ope Genhu, and burned at Final Prayer by Ruckus Fiddlesticks.
- This is not a comprehensive list. There's more on her record, and she's done some crimes that weren't officially recorded.
- She has bribed Brass Blades to turn a blind eye to what she's done in the past. So far, they all accepted her offer. Therefore, there is no official record of it... but from one Blade to another... well, you could have heard.
- She's also been the target of corrupt Brass Blades planting evidence on people to extort them. This has happened multiple times, and she has almost always paid the fee of extortion.
- If you're a Brass Blade, Sultansworn, or a Flame, feel free to have IC knowledge of her record... but please let me know OOC if you decide to act on it.))

STRENGTHS: keen hearing, quick, easily hidden. able to translate the commands Sahagin bark on land. able to parley with beast tribes.

GOSSIP: Extremely outspoken against Garlemald. Left citing dissatisfaction that the Lominsan military was ceasing its operations against the Empire. Both stupid and smart. (OOC - this bit is maaaybe a bit subject to change. Or at least, I need to do more lore research to really feel comfortable RPing this. /shrug)

The Agelyss Lantern

This page is OOC for convenience's sake. Readings don't have any charge. If you want to tip, you can; you're not obligated to."The Agelyss Lantern" is a reference to two fish of Hydaelyn said to bring good fortune - the living lantern (found in Rothlyt Sound) and the agelyss carp (native to Eastern La Noscea).Pakeke's methods of divination would strike most people from Thanalan as rather Amaljic in nature. But maybe it's just coincidence.---------------------------------Throw the Bones (Runes; General Divination)
Pakeke's preferred form of divination - ask a question or for a general reading, and she'll cast her runes and read them for you. This is the most in-depth form of divination she performs.
---------------------------------Season the Fire (Pyromancy; General Divination)
Ask a question, toss some aethersand on the fire, and Pakeke will read its reaction to answer your question.
---------------------------------Cracks in the Shell (Yes/No & Multiple-Choice Questions)
Write a question on a portion of adamantoise shell along with limited options (Yes/No most common, but you could put cardinal directions instead, or two different names). Heat the shell with a brand, and read the cracks to see your answer.
With such limited, concrete options, these readings might be inaccurate if they involve factors beyond your control (GMs, other players, etc). This might be best-suited to personal plots.---------------------------------Visions in the Flames (Writing Prompts)
Pakeke will look into the fire and scry what images lie within. These may include bits and pieces of specific situations playing out. They'd likely be inaccurate, were they actual divination - but as a writer, you've the power to make them come true, if you wish it.
